Putting up a Christmas tree is one of the most beloved Christmas traditions and it seems everyone has an opinion on just when is the right time to bring out the festive decor.
A real tree can last around four weeks, so you might want to wait until the first week of December. Otherwise, you risk a carpet of dried needles before Christmas even gets there. It also takes a couple of weeks for the natural fragrance of the tree to infuse your space fully, so account for that if you want your home to “smell like Christmas.” An artificial Christmas tree, on the other hand, gives you more leeway as it looks the same regardless of timing.
Tradition dictates that Christmas trees should be put up at the beginning of Advent, which begins on the fourth Sunday before Christmas and this year Advent begins on Sunday 1st December 2024.
For many people living in an Oak Meadows home, this is their first Christmas here and regardless of when you decide to do it, the whole family decorating the Christmas tree is a chance to make priceless Christmas memories.
